Top safest places to travel in 2023

Considering all the risks, if your traveling bug is more powerful than your fear, let’s see what are the top safest places to travel in 2021; we have some beautiful destinations that will offer you both the best protection while traveling, and the gorgeous views you’ve been dreaming on experiencing for such a long time now:

Israel

Recently, Israel made the news for being the most vaccinated country at some point. With a population of 9 million, Israel has less than 4000 active coronavirus cases, with only 37 in serious condition.

Make sure to check the official travel rules to Israel before planning your trip. Depending on the country you’re coming from and your vaccination status, you may need to quarantine yourself or take a test before entering the country.

Iceland

With a population of 340,000, Iceland has only 34 active coronavirus cases, most of them in mild condition and less than 10 new daily cases over the last few months.

They have also vaccinated more than 60% of their population, so we can say it’s a safe location to travel, especially if you’re vaccinated yourself. Check out the rules of entering Iceland here.

Hong Kong

With a population of 7,5 million, Hong Kong has less than 100 active coronavirus cases and less than ten daily new cases over the last 3 months.

Depending on where you’re coming from, Hong Kong may have strict entering rules, but at least they’re doing a good job at fighting the virus.

Liechtenstein

Whether you knew or didn’t know that Liechtenstein is a country, given its population of only 38,000 inhabitants, let us assure you it’s a beautiful place to visit, with very few chances of getting infected. They only have around 20 active cases of COVID-19, and the daily numbers seem to remain steady under 5 for many months in a row.

Half of the population is vaccinated already and the country is generally open for tourists. Check out their official entering rules, though, so you can stay on the safe side.

Luxembourg

Continuing the list of countries that you probably thought were cities in other countries, we present to you the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg from the heart of Europe. With 600,000 people, they currently have around 1000 active cases of coronavirus, most of them in mild condition.

Luxembourg City, Grund, bridge over Alzette riverThe daily new cases remain steady, but with half of the population already fully vaccinated, it can be a good option to visit. Luxembourg is generally open for travelers, with only a few entry restrictions.

Romania

Romania currently has around 1500 active cases of coronavirus infections, for a population of 19 million. Even if the vaccination rate is still low at the national level, at around 25%, the daily new cases have dropped significantly in the past few months. That’s probably because the vaccination rate is higher in large, crowded cities (the ones you would want to visit, anyway), reaching around 40% for Bucharest, the capital of Romania.

Balea Lake in Romania

Most businesses are open, including those from the hospitality industry, and entering the country is allowed for travelers, especially if they come from non-risk countries and/or have a valid vaccination certificate. You may want to keep an eye on the traveling rules here.

Austria

For a population of 9 million, half the size of the population of Romania, Austria has more active cases, around 1800. Yet, they seem to have a better prepared sanitary system, in case you get infected. And a 47% vaccination rate at the time of publishing.
